General Services
We are happy to provide a comprehensive family medicine practice in the suburban setting of the Edgemont community within NW Calgary. We are a diverse but small group of physicians who offer the full spectrum of Family Medicine services for all ages and stages in life. We have full confidence that we can address your care needs as a team.
There are some services we offer that are not covered by Alberta Health Care such as forms, doctors notes, driver's medicals, etc. The fee therefore is the responsibility of the patient. We appreciate your cooperation when we collect for these non-insured services. A list of approximate costs can be found here.
Additional Services
In addition to our team of doctors, we have an excellent team of allied health services available in our clinic including a pharmacist, health management nurse, a respiratory therapist and various mental health professionals available to optimize your care.
Pharmacist
Our pharmacist, Amy Lam is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and is a valuable resource for our patients. She can help review medications, establish care plans, and advise about the control of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and COPD. Amy is available on Mondays and patient can book appointments without a doctor's referral by calling the clinic.
Health Management Nurse
Our clinic nurse, Alison Fong, is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She is available to discuss nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, management of chronic diseases, mental health examinations, and assist with home care and end of life care planning. Alison is available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons and can be seen with or without a doctor's referral.
Respiratory Therapist
Patrick Leung offers in-clinic lung function testing for our patients on a scheduled basis. He is able to help with assessment of breathing conditions, perform testing in the office, and advise around inhaler use and optimization. He is also able to speak Chinese. We are able to make referrals for his assessment to be seen in a timely fashion at Ohana Medical Centre.
Mental Health Services
The doctors in our clinic are part of the Shared Mental Health Care program through Alberta Health Services. As participants in this program, we have access to psychologists who specialize in both adult and children/adolescent mental health on a regular basis. These appointments are scheduled via your primary physician and allow us to be present in the assessment for ongoing management.
In addition to these excellent specialists, Dr. Lim also has reserved a portion of her practice for counselling. She is available as an insured counselling service covered by your Alberta Health Care card. Please inquire with our staff if you would like to book in to see her in this capacity.
